BREAKING: #StormKatie Unleashes Wild Chaos Upon Britain With 107mph Gusts!

A low pressure weather system also known as "Storm Katie" has unleashed hell upon southern parts of England today with winds of up to 107mph which has consequently left 100,000 homes without power as well as destruction to buildings which have also been battered. The Environmental Agency have issued over twenty five weather warnings across the UK as well as over one hundred warnings for rapidly rising river levels. Although the storm has battered southern parts of the UK, it is expected to travel north bringing heavy gusts and heavy rainfall which is sure to bring disruption to roads and airports across Britain. The weather has brought disruption to many over the Easter bank holiday weekend both on the road and at airports. Passengers flying into Gatwick airport this morning stated that "landing was a terrifying experience" due to the dangerous heavy winds. AFC Wimbledon also tweeted this morning that their match against Portsmouth had to be postponed due to the weather conditions. Expect delays on the roads, on boats and at airports today and tomorrow as the storm has only just passed mainland eastwards, it is expected to travel further north but out across the North Sea where rigs are expected to experience 60mph gusts. Storm Katie is the eleventh storm (named by the MET Office) to hit Britain in the past five months as storm Abigail swept across the UK November 15th 2015. The UK public are expected to be vigilant throughout the storm from both flooding and gale force winds between now and Wednesday across all of the country.
